was Cantril Farm in the 1970's. A planner’s dream of a safe
environment, good shopping areas, schools and churches for the community,
Cantril Farm was intended to be a model green belt housing estate
to decant people from Liverpool’s decaying city centre. Built
in the mid-1960’s for a population of 15,000, the dream lasted
only until people tried to live there..."
